“Three Sides Water”
Ooligan Press, 2018

Role: Producer, talent acquisition, sound recorder/editor, director of photography, and animator/video editor
Software: Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Audition

As a design/marketing assistant on the Three Sides Water project team, I made the proposal for a book trailer. The idea was originally rejected since book trailers had not been successful for the press in the past, but the idea was later approved upon the author’s (Peter Donahue) request.

This is how good Ooligan Press is: I asked if we could have a video trailer for Three Sides Water. "Everybody's doing them," I said. And without blinking, they replied, "Absolutely!" Thanks to Liz [McIntire] and the other Oolies who made this happen.

“Reporting the Oregon Story: An Interview with Author Floyd McKay”
Oregon State University Press, 2016

Role: Producer, interviewer, sound recorder/editor
Software: Adobe Audition

The OSU Press blog had an on-going segment written by interns that featured guest content from the authors of each season’s books. There was a word count limit for each blog post that I often resented because I wanted to learn more about what inspired our authors to write their books. I asked if I could start a podcast where I interviewed authors as guests. The Marketing Manager recommended Floyd McKay to be my first interviewee since he had a life-long career in news and broadcasting and would likely be the most comfortable being interviewed. We met at the Oregon Historical Society to discuss his upcoming book “Reporting the Oregon Story”.

In his forthcoming book, Reporting the Oregon Story, veteran journalist Floyd McKay documents his time as a reporter and political analyst from 1964 to 1986, when Oregon was undergoing some of it’s biggest changes. Starting with the election of Tom McCall as Secretary of State and Bob Straub as State Treasurer, the “Oregon Story” unfolded at a time when the relationship between politics and media was quite different from today. In the first-ever OSU Press podcast, George P. Griffis intern Liz Pilcher sat down with Floyd McKay at the Oregon Historical Society to discuss Reporting the Oregon Story.

“Living With Thunder”
Oregon State University Press, 2016

Role: Producer, director of photography, editor
Software: Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition

I was asked to record a presentation by author Ellen Morris Bishop on her book "Living with Thunder: Exploring the Geological Past, Present, and Future of the Pacific Northwest". The presentation featured her photography from the book via PowerPoint, which I included the slides as part of the video.
